About me
Though she's been watching anime even before Sailor Moon came onto the scene, Kat doesn't consider herself "old"; just a seasoned anime veteran. She considers her biggest achievement as an otaku to be when her professor approved of using anime as her thesis topic, and despite the dearth of academic resources, she pulled it off. Over the years, she's done freelance work for several independent publishers, covering various local anime and game related events, reviewing manga and just trying to integrate her love for Asian culture with writing. Any free time not spent writing is dedicated to drawing... or reading a book.

After a long wait, I got my laptop! My dad helped me get a MacBook 2.4 Ghz. It's an amazing little thing, really. It's my first time to use a Mac, but I've gotten excellent feedback from friends who use them, as well as some awesome testimonials from people in the forums I visit.
![]() My yet nameless MacBook with my brother's 4th Gen iPod Nano I really didn't think I was going to get a MacBook at first, as I was really a Windows user and though that switching would be hard, not to mention the cost seemed to be a big high, compared to a regular laptop with the same specs. But when I found someone who was selling it at a much lower price than the other Apple store here, I decided to get it. He also owns a chain of shops selling Apple products and accessories, plus he was also well recommended by other forumers. And my uncle, also a Mac convert, told me he got his MacBook from Hong Kong at only a few thousand bucks cheaper than the one I was looking at so it was a good deal (note: I'm using my country's currency here, therefore it will sound more expensive than when you get it from the U.S. or other Western countries). Yesterday, I picked it up at the store and felt like a kid at Christmas. I did the registration at the store and that was just so fun. Wish I could run through it again haha. Oh well. ![]() My makeshift desk, so I could get the DSL as I have no wireless router yet. I was also charging the Mac. I'm having fun exploring it. Half of the excitement comes from having a new "toy," while the other is exploring the operating system itself. This is my first time to really tinker with a Mac so the experience is really new. I'm not having that much problems with the differences in the OS of Windows and Mac, but then again, I'm just mostly browsing the Internet. My only beef so far is I can't seem to change my YM's color fonts, but I'll figure that out sooner or later. ![]() Many thanks to my parents for helping me with this. ![]() -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
